2010 world cup Odds Might be Impacted by United States Team
The United States 23-man team for the World Cup has been named and the U.S. is expected to build some noise in 2010 world cup probabilities.
The United States starts up play vs England and that competition may decide how far the United States goes in World Cup wagering.
There are some familiar names on the 23-man roster that United States coach Bob Bradley detailed on Wednesday. There are some new players including Edson Buddle and Herculez Gomez, and Landon Donovan and DaMarcU.S. Beasley are on the squad again. There were seven people cut from the team. They were defenders Heath Pearce and Chad Marshall; midfielders Alejandro Bedoya, Sacha Kljestan and Robbie Rogers; and forwards Brian Ching and Eddie Johnson.
This would be the 3rd World Cup for Donovan, Beasley, and defender Steve Cherundolo. Most of the people on the U.S. roster are from Europe. In fact, 17 of the 23 people have been competing in Europe. There are 2 from Mexican teams and four from the MLS. Eight of the players have been competing in England, 3 in Germany, 2 in Scotland, and one particular in Italy, France, Norway and Denmark.
The United States is a long shot to win the World Cup as they are listed at 52-1. England is the first choice to win Group C, with the U.S. in second. The U.S. is 4-1 to win Group C while England is the odds-on favorite at -325. Slovenia and Algeria are not expected to be a great deal of threat in that group. The United States kicks off World Cup play vs England on Saturday, June 12th. The U.S. is 470 to win the competition, England is a -210 favorite and the Draw is 290.
In 1994, the United States hosted the World Cup. It has not yet, however, won the tournament.

South Africa beat out Morocco and Egypt for the honor. The FIFA World Cup is held once every four years and features 32 teams from different nations competing against each other for the championship in football. This event has historically been dominated by Brazil, which holds a record five titles and is the only team to have played in every tournament.
