Tiger in US Open Betting Event is Wild Card

Tiger Woods is a transformative figure in sports wagering and although he’s only played four golf wagering tourneys in the last seven months he’s still ruling the wagering probabilities conversation leading up the 2010 US Open wagering event.

Woods’ play in the few tourneys he’s taken part in has been inconsistent and hard for golf wagering handicappers to get a grip on since coming back from his self-imposed exile from the PGA wagering contest. Sometimes he’s been brilliant and sometimes he’s looked dreadful. But Tiger continues to be Tiger and it will be very hard to bet versus him, especially in the US Open wagering.

In fact, this year’s US Open probabilities contest will take place at Pebble Beach, an ideal location for the US Open wagering event; if the PGA were to select a lasting home for the US Open wagering event, it will be right here.

And Tiger Woods was the champion the previous time that the US Open probabilities event played out at this idyllic golf course. However he didn’t only win the event, he owned it, smashing nearly every US Open wagering record in the process and more or less announcing himself as the best player on earth. He has owned golf wagering around the world ever since.

He’ll be trying to use the past achievement at this course filled with wonderful memories to fuel him to present day achievement in this year’s US Open wagering event.

But he’ll have a lot of contest. Chief contender number one in the golf wagering event is of course his old nemesis Phil Mickelson. Lefty already has in one Major championship under his belt to date this year and would love to add another. Despite what the world rankings might say, Phil has been the top and most consistent golfer on earth over the last 6 months, as Tiger has been pretty much gone from golf wagering.

A fantastic barometer for Woods potential achievement in the US Open probabilities contest is watching him play in the Memorial. All the biggest names in golf wagering will be there and sports wagering fans will learn how he holds up versus a skilled lineup and also how his healing from a neck injury is coming along.

We’ll know that Woods is indeed the favorite in the US Open wagering event if he holds his own or even wins at the Memorial.

Woods has the record for being the most strokes under par and has won the US Open 3 times. Mickelson has never secured the US Open. Nevertheless, he is rated number two worldwide right under Woods, and Woods has experienced a tough previous few months. Between his neck injury and marital troubles and the media scandal that went with them, Woods might not be as on top of his game as he might have been otherwise. In any case the neck injury could be healing.

“I’m good enough to play, definitely,” Woods said. “The swelling has gone down. I’ve got range of motion. I’m just a little bit sore at the end of the day after good practice sessions. But I’ve been able to recover for the next day, which I wasn’t able to do prior to this. That’s a good sign.”

This year’s US Open Golf championship will be played from June 17-20.
